تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلْقِىَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌۭ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌۭ

English: almost bursting with rage. Its keepers will ask every group that is thrown in, ‘Did no one come to warn you?’

Bengali: ক্রোধে জাহান্নাম যেন ফেটে পড়বে। যখনই তাতে কোন সম্প্রদায় নিক্ষিপ্ত হবে তখন তাদেরকে তার সিপাহীরা জিজ্ঞাসা করবে। তোমাদের কাছে কি কোন সতর্ককারী আগমন করেনি?

Meaning & Reflection

'Every time a crowd is flung in, its keepers ask them: Did no warner come to you?' al-Biqa'i notes the fire itself 'almost bursts apart from fury' — and then the question. It is not asked to learn the answer, Ibn Ashur observes, but to expose the tragedy: the ruin was not from ignorance. Ibn Kathir ties it to Allah's justice — He punishes no one until a warner has come. Ask yourself: the damning fact is that a warning *had* arrived and was waved away. What warnings have already reached me — a verse, a jolt, a quiet unease — that I keep treating as background noise? The keepers' question is really being asked of me now, while the answer can still change.
