إِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ فِيهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِيقًۭا وَهِىَ تَفُورُ
English: They will hear it drawing in its breath when they are thrown in. It blazes forth,

Meaning & Reflection
'When they are thrown into it, they hear it drawing in a horrible breath as it boils over.' al-Biqa'i and Ibn Ashur linger on the imagery: the fire is given an almost living quality — a shahiq, the ragged in-breath of rage, and a churning boil. The Qur'an is not merely informing us that Hell exists; it is making the heart *feel* its menace, so the warning lands rather than passing as data.
