Surah Al-Mulk 67:24
سُورَةُ المُلۡكِ · Meccan · Verse 24 of 30
قُلْ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Translation
Say, ‘It is He who scattered you throughout the earth, He to whom you will be gathered.’

Meaning and reflection
'He is the One who scattered you across the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.' al-Saadi and Ibn Kathir note the paired verbs: a scattering now, a gathering then. The dispersal that feels so permanent, billions of separate lives, spread across continents and centuries, has a single appointed point of return. Ask yourself: I experience my life as scattered, pulled across places, roles, relationships, years that seem to lead nowhere in particular. This verse says the scattering is not the end of the story; there is a reassembly, and it is toward Him. Does knowing my dispersed days converge on one meeting change how I'm spending them while they're still scattered?
