فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
English: If that dying person is one of those who will be brought near to God,

Meaning & Reflection
'And if he was of those brought near...' al-Saadi and Ibn Ashur note the Surah now shows what waits on the *other* side of that throat, according to which of the three classes the dying soul belongs to — beginning with the highest, the 'muqarrabun', the brought-near. Ask yourself: the deathbed is not an end but a threshold, and this verse turns to what lies immediately beyond it. My whole life is, in a sense, sorting me into one of these three envelopes to be opened at that moment. It presses the most practical question a person can ask: which of the three am I preparing to be? Not in theory, but by the actual grain of how I live — for the answer given at the throat is set by the road I am walking right now.
