فَمَا ٱسْطَٰعُوٓا۟ أَن يَظْهَرُوهُ وَمَا ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ لَهُۥ نَقْبًۭا

English: Their enemies could not scale the barrier, nor could they pierce it,

Bengali: অতঃপর ইয়াজুজ ও মাজুজ তার উপরে আরোহণ করতে পারল না এবং তা ভেদ করতে ও সক্ষম হল না।

'So they were unable to scale it, nor were they able to bore through it.' Ibn Ashur and al-Saadi note the barrier's total effectiveness — the corrupting force could neither climb over nor dig through: the just ruler's God-enabled work genuinely protected the vulnerable people who had asked for help. Ask yourself: the effort *worked* — real protection resulted, evil was actually held back, the weak were actually shielded. It is a reminder that righteous, competent action, undertaken with God's enabling, produces real good in the world — not just good intentions but effective outcomes. Faith is not only a private comfort; it can build barriers that actually stop harm and shelter the defenceless.
