Surah Al-Waqi'ah 56:96
سُورَةُ الوَاقِعَةِ · Meccan · Verse 96 of 96
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Translation
[Prophet], glorify the name of your Lord the Supreme.

Meaning and reflection
'So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great.' al-Saadi and Ibn Ashur note the Surah closes exactly as its central section did (verse 74), with 'tasbih', the command to glorify the name of the Lord, 'al-'Azim', the Most Great: the proper end of witnessing the Event, the destinies, and the certain truth is worship. Ask yourself: after everything, the reversal, the three classes, the gardens and the fire, the deathbed, the certain truth, the Surah does not leave me in fear but turns me toward praise. The right response to grasping how great and sovereign my Lord is, is not paralysis but glorification. It hands me a concrete practice: to glorify His name, 'al-'Azim'. When the immensity of these truths lands on me, does my heart move, like the Surah itself, from awe into worship, and let that praise reshape the very next thing I do?
