Meaning & Reflection

'Then he followed a way.' al-Saadi and Ibn Ashur note the third repetition — the tireless pattern of a life spent following one path of service after another, never resting on past accomplishment. Ask yourself: three times the Surah says of him, 'then he followed a way'. The refrain paints a whole character: perpetual, humble usefulness, always moving to the next task God's provision made possible. It is the antithesis of the boastful stillness of the garden-owner. A life well-lived with power is not a monument one builds and admires but a road one keeps walking. Am I building monuments to sit before — or following a way, again and again, toward the next good my means allow? The most honourable use of what I've been given may simply be to keep going, to the next need and the next.
