أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ
English: How could He who created not know His own creation, when He is the Most Subtle, the All Aware?

Meaning & Reflection
'Would the One who created not know? — and He is the Subtle, the All-Aware.' al-Razi calls this a complete rational proof in a single line: to make a thing with purpose is to know it utterly, so the Maker of you cannot fail to know you. al-Saadi unfolds 'al-Latif' two ways — His knowledge reaches the most hidden, finest things; and He is gentle to His servant, steering good to him from directions he never expected. Ask yourself: I live much of my inner life as if it were unwitnessed — as if the Designer of my heart might somehow miss what moves in it. Could the One who wrote the code not read it? And if He is not only all-knowing but 'Latif' — gentle — does being fully known by Him feel like exposure, or like relief?
