وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
English: weigh with justice and do not fall short in the balance.

'And establish weight in justice, and do not skimp the Balance.' al-Saadi and Ibn Ashur note the startling turn to the concrete: dropped right among the sun, moon, and heavens is a plain command about *fair weighing* — give full measure, do not shortchange. The honesty of a transaction is placed beside the running of the cosmos. Ask yourself: I would never expect a verse about the majesty of the heavens to suddenly be about not cheating on a scale. Yet here small, everyday fairness is treated as cosmic business — a thumb on the scale is a crack in the order of the universe. Where am I 'skimping the balance' in the tiny ways that feel too small to matter — the shaved truth, the withheld effort, the quietly unfair deal?
