Surah Ar-Rahman 55:73
سُورَةُ الرَّحۡمَٰن · Medinan · Verse 73 of 78
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Translation
Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?

Meaning and reflection
'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' Resting on the honoured, sheltered companions, al-Saadi notes the refrain keeps counting the gifts of dignity and belonging among the favours. Ask yourself: belonging, being kept, valued, sheltered rather than exposed and disposable, is a deep human need I rarely thank God for even when I have it. Which of these will I deny? The refrain keeps surfacing favours I overlook precisely because they are so fundamental: to be held, honoured, and safe. Even the wish for such belonging, so central to my heart, points to the One who alone can grant it fully and forever.
