فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
English: Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?
Bengali: অতএব, তোমরা উভয়ে তোমাদের পালনকর্তার কোন কোন অবদানকে অস্বীকার করবে?
Meaning & Reflection
'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' Here the refrain closes the Surah's warnings before it turns, at last, to the Gardens — and al-Saadi notes that the whole terrifying passage was itself a mercy: a clear picture of the wrong road, given precisely so I would choose the right one. Ask yourself: everything up to here — the reckoning, the marks, the fire — was laid before me while I can still respond. Which of these favours, even the frightening ones, will I deny? A Lord who shows me the ruin *before* I reach it, and is about to show me the reward, is a Lord whose warnings are drenched in mercy. The refrain has trained me for this pivot: to receive both the warning and the promise as gifts from the same Merciful hand.
