Surah Ar-Rahman 55:40
سُورَةُ الرَّحۡمَٰن · Medinan · Verse 40 of 78
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Translation
Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?

Meaning and reflection
'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' al-Saadi notes that even the justice of that Day, where nothing hidden escapes and no one is wronged, is a favour: a universe with real accountability is a just universe, and justice is a mercy, especially to those who were wronged and never vindicated. Ask yourself: I want mercy for myself and justice for those who hurt me, and struggle to see judgement as good news. But a world where cruelty is finally exposed and answered is a world worth being grateful for. Which favour will I deny, including the favour of a reckoning that will right what this life left crooked? Perfect justice is not only a warning to me; it is a comfort to everyone who ever suffered unheard.
