Surah Ar-Rahman 55:32
سُورَةُ الرَّحۡمَٰن · Medinan · Verse 32 of 78
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Translation
Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?

Meaning and reflection
'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' al-Saadi notes that even the forewarning of the reckoning, 'We shall attend to you', is a favour, because a warning delivered in advance is a mercy that still leaves room to prepare. Ask yourself: I resent being warned, hearing it as pressure or threat. But a warning about a real, coming appointment, given while I can still get ready, is one of the kindest things I can receive. Which of His favours will I deny, including the mercy of being told, clearly and early, what is coming? The refrain keeps reframing what I'd file as fearsome into what it truly is: an act of care aimed at saving me.
