وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۢ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
English: they ignore every single sign that comes to them from their Lord,
Bengali: যখনই তাদের পালনকর্তার নির্দেশাবলীর মধ্যে থেকে কোন নির্দেশ তাদের কাছে আসে, তখনই তারা তা থেকে মুখে ফিরিয়ে নেয়।

'And no sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them but they turn away from it.' al-Saadi and Ibn Ashur note the diagnosis: the problem was never a shortage of evidence — signs keep arriving — but a fixed reflex of *turning away* from each one as it comes. The averted face is the constant, not the missing proof. Ask yourself: I sometimes tell myself I'd believe more, do more, if only I were shown a clearer sign. This verse suggests the issue may not be the supply of signs but my practiced habit of looking past them. How many signs have already reached me — an answered prayer, a narrow escape, a verse that landed — that I registered for a second and then turned away from?
