English: Another sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden Ark,

'A sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden ship.' Ibn Ashur and al-Saadi note the sign is the act of *being carried* — a vessel bearing you safely across an expanse of water you could never cross on your own. From Noah's ark onward, the ship is a standing image of a power that carries the helpless over the deep.
