۞ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ
English: After him We did not send any army from heaven against his people, nor were We about to:
Bengali: তারপর আমি তার সম্প্রদায়ের উপর আকাশ থেকে কোন বাহিনী অবতীর্ণ করিনি এবং আমি (বাহিনী) অবতরণকারীও না।
Meaning & Reflection
'And We did not send down upon his people after him any army from the heaven, nor did We need to.' Ibn Kathir and Ibn Ashur note the quiet contempt in it: the tyrants who seemed so formidable were not worth an army — the matter was far too small for that. No legions, no spectacle. Ask yourself: I can be intimidated by displays of power — the loud, the connected, the seemingly untouchable — as if they were forces of nature. This verse strips the illusion: before Allah, the mightiest oppressor is not even army-worthy. How much of my fear is aimed at 'powers' that are, in truth, negligible to the One who actually decides outcomes?
