Surah Al-Baqara 2:222 — Meaning, Translation & Reflection

وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْمَحِيضِ ۖ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًۭى فَٱعْتَزِلُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فِى ٱلْمَحِيضِ ۖ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَطْهُرْنَ ۖ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّٰبِينَ وَيُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ

English: They ask you [Prophet] about menstruation. Say, ‘Menstruation is a painful condition, so keep away from women during it. Do not approach them until they are cleansed; when they are cleansed, you may approach them as God has ordained. God loves those who turn to Him, and He loves those who keep themselves clean.

Bengali: আর তোমার কাছে জিজ্ঞেস করে হায়েয (ঋতু) সম্পর্কে। বলে দাও, এটা অশুচি। কাজেই তোমরা হায়েয অবস্থায় স্ত্রীগমন থেকে বিরত থাক। তখন পর্যন্ত তাদের নিকটবর্তী হবে না, যতক্ষণ না তারা পবিত্র হয়ে যায়। যখন উত্তম রূপে পরিশুদ্ধ হয়ে যাবে, তখন গমন কর তাদের কাছে, যেভাবে আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে হুকুম দিয়েছেন। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ তওবাকারী এবং অপবিত্রতা থেকে যারা বেঁচে থাকে তাদেরকে পছন্দ করেন।
