Surah Al-Baqara 2:191 — Meaning, Translation & Reflection

وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ ۚ وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ ٱلْقَتْلِ ۚ وَلَا تُقَٰتِلُوهُمْ عِندَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ حَتَّىٰ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ فِيهِ ۖ فَإِن قَٰتَلُوكُمْ فَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

English: Kill them wherever you encounter them, and drive them out from where they drove you out, for persecution is more serious than killing. Do not fight them at the Sacred Mosque unless they fight you there. If they do fight you, kill them- this is what such disbelievers deserve-

Bengali: আর তাদেরকে হত্যাকর যেখানে পাও সেখানেই এবং তাদেরকে বের করে দাও সেখান থেকে যেখান থেকে তারা বের করেছে তোমাদেরকে। বস্তুতঃ ফেতনা ফ্যাসাদ বা দাঙ্গা-হাঙ্গামা সৃষ্টি করা হত্যার চেয়েও কঠিন অপরাধ। আর তাদের সাথে লড়াই করো না মসজিদুল হারামের নিকটে যতক্ষণ না তারা তোমাদের সাথে সেখানে লড়াই করে। অবশ্য যদি তারা নিজেরাই তোমাদের সাথে লড়াই করে। তাহলে তাদেরকে হত্যা কর। এই হল কাফেরদের শাস্তি।
