Surah Ar-Rahman 55:69
سُورَةُ الرَّحۡمَٰن · Medinan · Verse 69 of 78
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Translation
Which, then, of your Lord’s blessings do you both deny?

Meaning and reflection
'So which of the favours of your Lord will you two deny?' Resting on the named fruits, al-Saadi notes the refrain keeps drawing the line from the delights of the Garden back to the delights of now, all as favours from one Hand. Ask yourself: the dates and pomegranates of Paradise and the ones in my kitchen come from the same Giver, the earthly a sample of the eternal. Which will I deny by tasting the sample and forgetting the Source? The refrain trains a single habit across both worlds: to receive every sweetness, here or hereafter, with a lifted heart that says 'from You', so that gratitude becomes the natural reflex of eating, drinking, living.
