Daily Ayah ยท Al-Mulk 67:2

That quiet feeling of never doing enough, while others seem to pray more, give more and manage more.

This ayah says life and death were created as a test. So it is worth asking what exactly is being tested.

Ibn Kathir points out the wording: the ayah asks which of you is best in deed. It does not ask which of you does the most.

So what makes a deed best? Al-Saadi explains that it is a deed done with sincerity, and done in the right way.

Scholars explain that the test is about the quality of a deed, not its amount: sincere for Allah and done the right way.

No need to count or compare. Do one thing well, for Allah, knowing He is the Forgiving to those who turn back.

Amal for today: Choose one small good deed today and do it with full attention, only for the sake of Allah.
