Daily Ayah ยท Ta-Ha 20:46
Many of us think that faith means never feeling afraid. This ayah shows a gentler picture of fear.
Musa and Harun, peace be upon them, had been sent to a powerful ruler. They spoke openly to Allah about their fear, and this ayah is the reply.
The reply does not rebuke them for their fear. It gives them something to hold onto instead.
The reply is not a lecture. It is a promise: He is with them, hearing and seeing.
Ibn Ashur explains that hearing and seeing mean nothing is hidden from Allah, so no word or action they fear is left unnoticed by Him.
When someone stronger than you worries you, remember you are never unheard or unseen. Bring your fear to Allah, as Musa and Harun did.
Amal for today: Name one thing you fear today, and tell Allah about it in your own words.
