Daily Ayah ยท Hud 11:6
One small word in this ayah carries a big comfort for anyone who worries about tomorrow's needs.
The translation says provision is His concern. The Arabic word is ala, which literally means "on", as in "its provision is on Allah."
It is a firm, strong phrase. Putting provision "on" Allah is how the Arabic stresses that something is settled and will surely arrive.
So why was it put this way? What does such firm wording tell us?
Scholars explain that this wording shows the promise is certain and guaranteed. Al-Razi adds that it rests on the promise, grace and kindness of Allah.
Trust and effort go together, and hardship is not a sign that you failed at trust. This ayah gives you a promise of Allah to lean on while you work.
Amal for today: Next time you worry about your needs, pause, remember this promise of Allah, then take one honest step of effort.
